No, of course not! Chances are, you have never ventured beyond the Kuala Lumpur-Genting-Penang-Langkawi circuit.
So, here’s how you can make amends and visit the unseen side of Malaysia.

Start off in Kota Kinabalu in the Sabah province on Borneo island in the east. A ferry ride takes you to Bunga Raya Island Resort & Spa. Set on a coral reef island, the resort is tucked away on a tranquil, hidden bay framed by crescent shaped white sand beach on one side and the centuries old virgin jungle on the other.

Then, move on to Sandakan from where you head out to the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. After the orang utans, discover the wildlife of the rainforest along the Kinabatangan River on reaching Sukau. Spend a day here with morning and evening cruises on the river.

You can either return from Sukau or carry on to Danum Valley for a rainforest canopy walk or a night safari drive with a nature guide. Perhaps, even both!

On the way back to Kuala Lumpur go via Pangkor Laut Resort, a retreat tucked away on a lush 300-acre island.

Come on, take the plunge! Call us to fix up your itinerary for the Malaysia you never knew existed. Or, weren’t familiar with. We are, as usual, just one phone call away at (0) 9818905024. If you prefer email then theworld@golighthouse.in is the way to go.
