About seven miles from Dubrovnik, on the car-free island of Lopud, LOPUD-1483 is a new ‘hotel’ that is located in a former 15th-century monastery and 16th-century fortress.
For the first time this summer, LOPUD-1483 has opened its doors to guests for personalised holidays, symposiums or retreats. Its five suites, that vary in size, are available to rent in their entirety between July-September and per suite in the autumn and spring.
The starkness of the monastery is balanced by art and antiques from the Thyssen-Bornemsza family collection, considered one of the most notable private art collections in the world.
As can be expected, the lifestyle is not monastic at LOPUD-1483. There are outdoor yoga sessions, personalised wellness programmes, trips to sandy beaces close-by, visits to Renaissance age villas and chapels in the area, even open-air film nights or whatever else you may want arranged.
The food is whatever you like, where you like. Now, that is some freedom of choice!
The Dubrovnik area itself has hidden treasures waiting to be discovered and LOPU-1483 can be the perfect base for your explorations.
So, take time out and escape the crowds in a peaceful, secluded environment that will leave you dreaming of medieval times.
