Music lover, are you? Then read on for almost an entire year’s gig list of electronica, pop, hip hop, rock and such like genres of music.
The Ultra Music Festival in Miami is spread over two week ends in March 2013 – 15 to 17th and then 22nd to 24th. It is the the world’s most famous outdoor electronic music festival and if you are a fan then be there.
If alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock and hip hop is your scene then Lollapalooza in Santiago, Chile is your destination.From 5th to 7th April 2013 you can enjoy Brits Hot Chip, America’s venerable stoner-rock band Queens of the Stone Age and Ohio blues-rock duo.
Experimental, electronic and hip-hop music comes together at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain from 20th to 25th May 2013. Starting out with two bands the first day, fifty-four bands will be live over the weekend.
Kanye West and Guns N’ Roses fans should make plans to be at Governors Ball Music Festival in New York from 7th to 9th June 2013. There will be other bands too – some that you know of and some that you don’t. But, discovering music after your heart is always a nice experience!
There’s more at Roskilde Festival in, where else but, Roskilde, Denmark from 29th June to 7th July 2013. This year’s line up of musicians includes Rihanna, the queen of R&B and a whole host of electronica, rock, pop and rap performers.
From 19th to 21st July 2013 the scene shifts to Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. This year performers include Björk (yay!), Belle & Sebastian and R.Kelly. There are many more yet and some more to be announced as D-day approaches. Okay, M-day sounds better, you know, M for music.
Cannot make it to the Björk performance at Pitchfork? No sweat. She is going to be at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan. Well, Niigata, to be precise. And, in addition to Björk (this is too much; no more of her now) you can also get to hear Nine Inch Nails (ouch!) and DJ Shadow, Hot 8 Brass Band and CJ Ramone.
The world’s best live acts and DJs across dub, hip hop, drum ‘n’ bass, dubstep and beyond (their words, not ours) will be at Outlook Festival in Fort Punta Christo Pula in Croatia. From 29th August to 2nd September 2013, music will play on the beach and the fort of this small town.
