Located in the South Pacific Ocean, New Zealand might look small on a world map, but it’s as diverse as several continents rolled into one. The country’s 27 regions stretch more than 1,600 kilometres across two main islands. Each destination is distinctive in character, and with the country being so compact, you can easily visit several on your holiday.

Here is a possible itinerary that can be customised to your needs and requirements:

Day 1: Arrive in New Zealand – Auckland – Bay of Islands

Arrive Auckland and transfer to Bay of Islands by domestic flight. Relax at the hotel/lodge and stay

Overnight in Auckland.

Day 2: Bay of Islands

Transfer to Waitangi Wharf, the starting point for an enjoyble luxury boat cruise through the Bay of Islands. Marvel at the Northland landscapes and marine environment. Sit back and relax, enjoy some kayaking with the on board kayaks or jump in the water for some snorkelling! You may also wish to go ashore on one of the many islands and enjoy a walk on the beautiful beaches. Enjoy a barbecue lunch in a secluded beach where you can taste the delicious flavour of the wonderful Bay of Islands seafood delicacies.

Day 3: Bay of Islands

Day at leisure — Time to take up optional activities such as a helicopter excursion, horseback riding or winery visits.

Day 4: Bay of Islands – Taupo

Transfer by air to Taupo via Auckland. Reach hotel/lodge with remainer of the day at leisure.

Overnight in Taupo.

Day 5 & 6: Bay of Islands – Taupo

Choose from activities like fly fishing in the remotebackcountry streams and pools, golfing at Wairakei International Golf Course or a white-water rafting adventure.

Overnight in Taupo.

Day 7: Taupo – Queenstown

Transfer to Queenstown. The remainder of the day at leisure to explore the centre of Queenstown with its diversity of shops and activities. Perhaps head up the gondola to the top of Bob’s Peak for an amazing view of the area!

Day 8: Queenstown & Milford Sound

Transfer to Queenstown Airport to enjoy a Milford Sound Helicopter Excursion with Glacier Landing. Your flight sweeps through the Southern Alps, over the secluded alpine lakes and lush forest of Fiordland National Park. Fly the full length of the fiord before reaching the rugged West Coast with several landings enroute where you may like to take a stroll on a glacier or black sand beach. Enjoy an alpine wilderness picnic today!

Over night in Queenstown.

Day 9: Queenstown

Optional activities like hiking the Routeburn Track, a quad biking trip, or a jet boat wilderness safari through the Dart River.

Overnight in Queenstown.

Day 10: Queenstown – Auckland – Depart New Zealand
Transfer to Auckland to catch flight back.
