100 km from the town of Lulea in Sweden lies your childhood dream for real. In the shape of the Treehotel.
As the name suggests, it is a hotel in the trees. More correctly, rooms up in the trees. Up there, forget about the time constraints of everyday life, enjoy the serenity, and rejuvenate in a sophisticated yet familiar environment.
Treehotel is located in the tall pine forest with spectacular views of the Lule River. On offer are six unique treerooms designed by some of Scandinavia’s leading architects. The tree rooms are suspended 4-6 metres above the ground and are accessible by ramp, bridge, or electric stairs.
Each room is unique. Not only the architecture but also its furniture, lighting and fabrics are custom designed. The rooms vary in size with the largest rooms accommodating up to four people.
The daily operations as well as the tree room’s construction are environmentally friendly, aimed to have minimal impact on nature. That’s why each room has modern, environmentally-friendly combustion toilets and water-efficient sinks.
At Treehotel you get to experience the charm of all four seasons. The winter brings its stark contrasts of dark skies against glistening white snow. An action-packed dog sled ride through the frozen landscape, or a calm and quiet snowshoe hike in pursuit of the magic and myth of the northern lights are ideal winter activities.
If you’re there in the summer, enjoy bright nights while on horseback, moutainbike, or peacefully by foot.
Autumn is the most colourful of seasons when you can go paddling a kayak along the historic Lule River and enjoy the fresh,
clean air. And, if you like fishing, you have access to good fishing waters all year around.
