Each year in July-August, Paris brings the beach to Parisians along the Seine. Complete with palm trees and everything else that goes with a beach ambience. No need to go to the Riviera or the Côte d’Azur if you haven’t the time!
The stretch from the Louvre to Pont de Sully gives you get three kilometres through historical Paris with a swimming pool and a concert stage. You also have open-air attractions (rollerblading, tai-chi, wall climbing, boules, etc.). Plus, refreshment areas, play areas and deckchairs for your time out unwinding by the river.
The Bassin de la Villette stretch, from Rotonde de Ledoux to the former Magasins Généraux features a proper water-sports complex (with rowing boats, kayaks, pedal boats and dinghies) alongside quaint quay-side restaurants and boules courts.
So, if you are going to be in Paris any time during the four weeks starting July 20th, remember to carry your beach kit with you.
